A water proofing treatment that is designed to protect, condition, and restore dry or compromised hooves.  It is Crafted with beeswax, carnauba wax, Castor oil, lanolin, and a therapeutic blend of essential oils.  It forms a breathable barrier that locks in moisture while helping to repel mud, dew and water.  Ideal before training or turnout, it supports hoof resilience against daily wetting and drying cycles--whether from morning dew or post-ride rinses.

Our ingredients

  • Castor oil


    A deeply penetrating natural oil that helps condition and restore dry, brittle hooves. Castor oil supports flexibility and helps reduce cracking by keeping the hoof properly hydrated without making it overly soft.

  • Bees wax


    Beeswax creates a natural protective barrier that helps seal in moisture while shielding the hoof from wet, muddy conditions. It also gives the product its structure and helps it stay in place after application.

  • Lanolin


    Lanolin is a powerful moisture-locking ingredient derived from wool. It helps the product adhere to the hoof and provides long-lasting conditioning, making it especially effective in dry or harsh environments.

  • Carnauba wax

Why Silver Pastures


Starting in late June 2024, we became frustrated with the hoof care products available for Florida's wet season. There were plenty of options on the market, but many relied on inexpensive, petroleum-based ingredients rather than premium, hoof-nourishing oils and waxes. We believed horse owners deserved a better alternative—one that not only helped condition the hoof but also created a durable, water-resistant barrier. That belief led us to develop Hoof Coat.

I’ve been using it about 2 weeks and it’s been non stop rain every day here in Ocala. I can honestly say I’m shocked that my horses’ feet have not started their usual breakdown. I have been applying it just about every day though, after their rides before I hose them. I am also keeping them up at night. But they have been on wet grass all day as most days have had at least one rain storm. Shoes have stayed on and are still tight so I can say so far, I’m very pleased! I do think the sponge is better than the brush for application because the product is not soft, the sponge gets it in better. Thank you! 😊

I have been a professional farrier at thoroughbred race tracks throughout the country for over 50 years. Bathing, icing, and track conditions are very damaging to the hoof wall. Most hoof conditioner's don't last long enough to protect the foot. THIS product lasts for days and penetrates well. I recommend this to all of my clients because it works.
